Golden Milk with Essential Oils

With cold and flu season running rampant this time of year, give your immune system a boost with a nutrient packed, anti-inflammatory cup of Golden Milk infused with Young Living Essential Oils and Ningxia Red.
 
 
As cold and flu season feels like it’s taking over the country, I have been thinking really hard about what I can do to intentionally stay healthy and boost my immune system in the middle of what seems to be one of the worst seasons we’ve had in a long time!
 
I came to two conclusions. Ningxia Red and Golden Milk. Both phenomenal at boosting immunity, helping manage our inflammation responses, and kicking the snot out of cancer. For real.
 
The studies on turmeric, and more specifically, curcumin, are surfacing left and right. The effect on inflammation is what’s getting the most attention and for good reason. It’s also said that taking it with black pepper can make it more bioavailable, which is why you see that in the recipe. This study focused on the decrease in inflammation when using cur cumin, and the results say that “based on early cell culture and animal research, clinical trials indicate curcumin may have potential as a therapeutic agent in diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, arthritis, and chronic anterior uveitis, as well as certain types of cancer.” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19594223
 
I’d say that’s worth looking into, especially for those of us with autoimmune disease, which just happens to be a growing percentage of the population.
 
I’ll tackle Ningxia Red another day, but I am very excited to give you this recipe! Pay attention to how your body feels when you drink it. If you feel any detox reaction of any sort, it would be best to drink it at night before bedtime so you can rest. I have found that a cup of Golden Milk before bed has led to a more relaxed and restful sleep leading to a well-rested and rejuvenated morning.

Golden Milk with Essential Oils
Boost your immunity with this power drink that will also reduce inflammation. Enjoy this drink to your health!

Ingredients
  1. Powder
  2. 1 cup turmeric
  3. 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  4. 1 teaspoon black pepper
  5. 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  6. 1 teaspoon ginger (can add fresh daily)
  7. Add daily
  8. 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
  9. 1 cup almond milk
  10. 1 cup coconut milk
  11. 1 teaspoon honey (manuka honey is best!)
  12. 1 drop Young Living Black Pepper Vitality oil
Instructions
  1. Mix all powder ingredients together and store in an airtight mason jar or glass tupperware jar. Use one tablespoon and mix with milk, honey, black pepper EO, and coconut oil daily! Warm over medium heat until mixture is combined and serve warm in a mug!

    So the daily version serves how many people?

      Karen, the daily of 2 cups would serve 1-2 people. You can definitely do 1/2 cup of each milk for a smaller glass and then add less of the turmeric mix to taste!
