This picture pretty much sums up how I feel about coffee. There is a whole lotta love between coffee and I. This is going to be a short post, but I wanted to let you all know that I’ve found a coffee I can have…and that my 7 month old can have. You know what I mean, right? I’m not actually giving my baby coffee, but he might be getting some coffee flavored milk from me these days. Did you really think I was giving my 7 month old coffee? That would just be weird. Anyways, I’ve been pregnant or nursing, or both, for 6 straight years. I am more than willing to give up anything for my kids’ health, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy! I’ve been without coffee for all those years, and I just wanted to be able to sit down every once and a while with a cup. While I love the caffeine aspect of the rich dark brown liquidy goodness, I mostly just love the taste and the ritual of it. I absolutely love sitting down with a warm cup of coffee and slowing down.
So I’ve been on the hunt for a really yummy, healthy decaf that is water pressed and doesn’t affect the little dude’s tummy or get me jazzed. And I’ve hit the jackpot! I found CoffeeAM a few weeks ago and I’m in love. I ordered the Organic Decaf ‘Swiss Water’ Peru Fair-Trade Coffee. I was worried the name was too short. I kid, I kid.
It has zero affect on me, which means that it truly is DECAF! I’ve had Peet’s decaf and felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin, because there was still so much caffeine in it. As far as I can tell, the little dude’s tummy has been doing fine on it. And I’m pumped! Like, really pumped. Because I think I’m an awesome blogger now, I called up the super cool people (really, they were truly awesome) at CoffeeAM and asked them for a discount code for all my readers. Just enter “bethskitchen” when checking out and you’ll get 10% off your 1 pound bag of coffee!!
So all you pregnant and nursing Mamas (and all you non-pregnant folks who like decaf too), I hope this is some fun news for you! I hope that you can enjoy a cup or two of this awesome goodness and kick your feet up for a few minutes too. I’m going to go sit by my fire (because apparently anything less than 80 degrees feels like winter in CA right now) and enjoy my cup o’ Joe. Peace out friends.
